For our 3rd design project, we were told to pick a word and make designs in 6-inch squares that would basically illustrate that word in several different ways. We started off by making 20 hand made designs out of black and white paper to get our ideas out and to eventually build off of them. Next, we took our designs to the computers and made 15 refinements from our originals. After that, we added color to our refinements and made 15 new colored designs. Finally, we ended with 6 refined color and black and white designs, and turned them into our final 9 designs that were printed on black matte board. This project was one of our first exposures to graphics in this class which, for me, was very exciting because it’s my major, and was a nice change from the industrial work we’ve done in the first 2 projects.
